Creative George Town
The Tasmanian Liberal Government is focused on strengthening the future for all Tasmanians by delivering on projects that will make a real difference in our communities.
On 14 July 2022, the Tasmanian Liberal Government announced the 41 successful projects and programs being funded through the Premier’s Fund for Children and Young People.
The George Town Council acquired a grant funding of $44,000 towards the Creative George Town - Holiday/After School Program.
The Creative George Town program will run for a year and offer free artistic activities to all children from 3 to 15 years in the George Town municipality and in collaboration with:
- Port Dalrymple Primary School
- Star of the Sea Catholic College
- South George Town Primary School
- George Town Community HUB and other community spaces.
The program will focus on being inclusive and equitable and will provide children with the opportunity to engage in artistic activities to help and encourage them to express themselves in a safe, creative, and artistic manner.

Stencils + Acrylic Paint = Canvas - After the success with the graffiti skateboards, Thomas Chandler will now share how to design your stencils and acrylic spraypainting techniques to paint your own canvas.

Reprise Choir - Sharyn Martin will get families singing! Come with all your family and friends and learn how to sing together.

The Creative George Town program is supported by the Tasmanian Government and created by the George Town Council. It is dedicated to children and young people to enjoy arts and stimulate their creativity.
