The Department of State Growth will be undertaking embankment stabilisation work in the road reserve on the East Tamar Highway approximately one kilometre north of Fourteen Mile Creek Bridge. The work involves repairing a short section of embankment, approximately 50 metres long, on the western side of the road. This will involve earthworks to reconstruct the bank beside the road. Works will commence in mid-May 2017 and should be completed by the end of June 2017, subject to weather conditions.
The road works will be performed under an approved Traffic Management Plan by the contractor to ensure the least possible disruption to road users. During construction one lane will be closed to traffic, leaving one lane open in each direction. Reduced speed limits at the work site are necessary for the safety of workers and the travelling public, so please slow down, approach the work site with caution and follow all traffic control instructions.
