Join us on Australia Day 2026, as our newest citizens take the Australian citizenship pledge of commitment, and the presentation of the Australia Day Awards followed by breakfast.

Each year, the George Town Council celebrates the achievements and contributions of outstanding members of our community through the Australia Day Awards. These individuals and community events demonstrate extraordinary service every day within our communities and deserve to be recognised.

Australia Day Ambassador -  Kristine Bull
Kristine Bull works as a Private Practice Psychologist on the North West Coast of Tasmania. She has a special interest in working with clients with Autism and has developed a number of group therapy programs, including ‘Brain Boot Camp’ and ‘Love and the Spectrum’. Her team also run after school Social Clubs for neurodiverse children and adolescents, as well as social skills programs for adults with a disability.

Kristine was involved in initiating Pathway House, a counselling outreach center in Devonport as well as Pathway Shed, a Community Outreach Centre in East Devonport, home to the Brain Boot Camp program. Her Team is currently in the process of establishing the ‘Brain Boot Camp Café and Catering service’ to provide training and future employment opportunities for adults with a disability. This will also include a community playgroup for children with Autism.

Kristine is involved in both paid and voluntary roles across these two centers. She also provides workshops and presentations to schools and community gatherings, with the aim of promoting understanding of: preventative mental health strategies, mental illness and Autism.
