George Town Council invites community members to view and comment on a draft concept for a George Town Colonial Heritage Storytelling Trail. The information within the attached document has been sourced using tour brochures, desktop searches and reference books on hand. We acknowledge that the information included is preliminary and that clarification and further research will be undertaken before entering this project's next stage. We are seeking feedback and comments on the Colonial Heritage Storytelling Trail concept.  

The George Town Colonial Heritage Storytelling Trail aims to enlighten visitors about the town’s colonial period, as George Town plays a significant role in the development of early Tasmania and Australia being the third settlement in the colony behind Hobart and Sydney.

A copy of the George Town Colonial Heritage Storytelling Trail can be found HERE and in hardcopy at the George Town Council Office in Anne Street.

The consultation period commenced Thursday 1st December 2022 and closes 5:00pm Friday 6th January 2023. EXTENDED until the Monday the 6th February 2023 at 5:00pm.
