George Town Township Plans

 

George Town Council invites community members to view and comment on the DRAFT George Town Township Plans. At Council, we recognise the importance of engaging and consulting with our community when implementing and reviewing our policies, strategies and plans therefore we are seeking feedback regarding its content, purpose and direction.

The Township Plans aim to define a coherent character for George Town’s coastal townships and rural areas. They seek to ensure that each community can move forward sustainably and sensitively through coherent objectives and actions.

The Township Plans (the Plans) are a non-statutory plans that aims to understand each places (coastal townships and rural areas) key features, unique qualities, and subtle differences, and define a delivery plan for community infrastructure. Community infrastructure is defined as any park, reserve, street, trail, or facility managed by George Town Council.

The DRAFT George Town Township Plans is available HERE and in hardcopy at the George Town Council Office in Anne Street.

The consultation period will commence on Friday 31st of May and will close at 5pm on Friday 14th of June 2024.
