Your co-operation is sought in maintaining the appearance of the community by assisting with the prevention of littering.

Many road verges continue to be inundated with ltiter and it takes considerable effort to restore and maintain their appearance. Severe penalties exist under the Litter Act 1973 for littering. Council appoints an officer for the purpose of abating the problems of refuse dumping and littering in unauthorised areas.

You can help by ensuring your garbage is well contained and secure on collection days, keeping the verge clean near your home and picking up and disposing of unslightly litter.

Thank you for your co-operation.
