George Town Visitor Information Centre Re-opens Today

20 Aug 2020

Now that state-wide travel restrictions have been lifted and Tasmanian’s  look to stretch their legs, George Town Council is reopening their Visitor Information Centre in George Town today, Friday the 21st  August 2020.  The centre’s opening hours will be 10am-3pm - 7 days a week.

Social distancing guidelines and hygiene regulations including restricted entry numbers, hand sanitiser stations and sneeze guards will be in place to ensure the safety of not only  our valued local volunteers who staff the centre but also the visitors who are expected to begin returning to the region.

The Watch House unfortunately is just far too small and does not meet the WHS standards under the Covid  19 social distancing guidelines and therefore Council will not be reopening this facility until such time as the State government changes or relaxes the 1.5m social distancing guidelines.

So spread the word, the George Town Visitor Centre offers the best tourist information in the municipality!
