ROAD CLOSURES FOR THE 2020 CHRISTMAS PARADE
The following roads and carpark will be closed, for purposes of conducting the annual George Town Christmas Parade and Carols on Friday 11th December 2020
Due to COVID-19 Social Distancing requirements we are extending the route down to Windmill Point and returning back along Macquarie Street to the George Town Fire Station.

*Note: The intersection at Elizabeth and Macquarie Streets will be controlled to permit access from the Macquarie Street (River end only) into Elizabeth Street (Southern end only).
No parking will be permitted in Macquarie Street from 3.00pm. This will be displayed on the electronic board on the corner of Main Road and Macquarie Street. This is required as part of Council’s Risk Management Plan for the event, and will ensure that no vehicles are parked in Macquarie Street for the duration of the Christmas Parade.
No parking will be permitted in the Elizabeth Street carpark from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.
