Seniors Concert - "The hall was alive with the sound of music"

22 Oct 2020

The 2020 Seniors Variety Concert was held in the Memorial Hall on Thursday 15th October 2020.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions a limited number of 70 tickets were sold. Over 50 seniors braved the wet weather and enjoyed two hours of local talented performers, with afternoon tea personally served by the Mayor Greg Kieser and Deputy Mayor Tim Harris.

Seniors Concert Audience 2020

Our performers this year were Vince Brophy, Waldo the Bush Poet, Trish Ray, Port Dalrymple School with Macca the dog, West Tamar Ukulele Group, Tony Newport, Bee Bop Dance Studio, Peter Parkes, West Tamar Cloggers and Peter McGrandle.

Of course, events are not possible without the help of wonderful volunteers in the community who were there to ensure the afternoon ran smoothly. Ann Nixon and June Logan welcomed everyone at the door, Tom Nixon operated the curtains on stage for the performers, Tamar FM’s Kevin Ellis compered, while Dennis Rawlinson  once again took care of audio for the afternoon.

Thank you so much for coming along this year and we look forward to bigger and better event returning next year.
