Norfolk Street - Residents Notification

18 Jan 2021

Dear Resident / Motorist

George Town Council has contracted Stabilised Pavements of Australia to carry out road rehabilitation works along Norfolk Street (Mobil Road through to the end of Norfolk Street). Our works will commence on the 27th of January with an intended duration of 2 weeks, weather and other circumstances permitting.  Works shifts are planned to commence at 7.00am and be completed by 5.00pm each day with the surface prepared so as to allow two lanes of traffic at the completion of each shift. Please avoid parking on the road surface until the final bitumen surfacing has been applied.

Our traffic controllers will provide direction for you through the site where required and we will endeavor to keep all properties accessible during the works shift, subject to delays of up to 10 minutes.

In order for the works to be carried out as smoothly, safely and with less inconvenience for yourself, we would ask your co-operation for the following:

Please do not allow children to play in the street and take care to keep your pets away from the works area as heavy equipment shall be present.

  1. Obey all traffic controllers on site for your own safety.
  2. Pedestrian access will be on the footpath/nature strip.
  3. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we kindly ask that you do not approach our staff directly. If you have any queries please contact our Supervisor on the number supplied below.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and we look forward to providing you with a new improved road surface using our specialist recycling treatments.

If you have any concerns please contact our Project Engineer Ben Hanacek on 0439 793 324

Thank you
