Stage 2 Regent Square

Council is pleased to announce the we are about to commence Stage 2 of  Regent Square redevelopment.

As of Monday the 22nd of March 2021 the entire open space area with in Regent Square will be closed off to the public, and will be classed as a work site with a strict no unauthorised access or entry.  Please see map below for clarification.

In accordance with Work Safe and Occupation Health and Safety requirements, the area has to be closed to safeguard the general public, give clear demarcation for contractors working within the worksite, particularly as there will be heavy machinery operating regularly with in the work site.

Council will have a kerbside footpath from the Cimitiere Street junction along Anne Street to Macquarie Street for pedestrian access to the childrens playground and the shopping precinct.   A designated grassed area has also been provided for pedestrians, this is located on the Elizabeth Street side of Regent Square,and can be accessed via the existing footpath on the western side of the road.
