Road and Bridge Damage

In October 2022, Tasmania experienced some significant weather which caused wide-spread damage to much of the state, including the George Town Municipality. We had significant damage to roads (sealed and unsealed), bridges and trees. We are still working to repair this damage, unfortunately this does take some time as we wish to ensure we repair the damage efficiently and safely.

We are also working closely with the Tasmanian Government, where funding is available for eligible activities under the Tasmanian Relief and Recovery Arrangements: Natural Disaster Relief to Local Government Policy.

We ask that all residents drive safely and obey all traffic management signs along these roads and bridges.
