Community Assistance Grants Round 1 2023/2024

The George Town Council’s Community Assistance Grants Round 1 for the 2023/2024 financial year are now open.

Are you a community club or organisation and have identified a project, need or improvement in the local community? The George Town Council is committed to supporting community organisations and individuals who contribute to building a vibrant and active community. 

Community Grants up to $2,000 may be provided to community organisations whose members are primarily residents of the George Town municipal area, or the activity/project is located in the George Town municipality, and the support is being sought to benefit the community of the George Town municipal area. Examples of suitable projects include but are not limited to:

• Minor Infrastructure, ie the purchase of equipment for use by organisations;
• Community Arts Projects;
• Community Workshops and Training Courses;
• Increase participation in sports and recreational activities;
• Improve environmental outcomes.
