Notice of Urgent Construction Works and Temporary Road Closure

Road - Macquarie Street between Main Road (roundabout) and Sorrell Street
Date – Tuesday 14th May 2024
Time – 9 am to 1 pm

This notification informs residents that Power Lines Tas, acting on behalf of the council, intends to install two new light poles in front of shop 2 at 83 Macquarie Street and in front of 69-71 Macquarie Street. These installations are part of the Light Pole Renewal Program and will involve replacing the old light poles. The urgent work is scheduled to take place on the specified date and time mentioned above.

To facilitate this project, Council will need to temporarily close east bound lane on Macquarie Street between Main Road and Goulburn Street roundabout to Sorell Street during above specified time. Traffic will be requested to detour during this time.

To ensure smooth traffic flow and minimal disruption, adequate traffic management will be implemented.

We kindly request all residents to avoid parking vehicles on Macquarie Street between Main Road and Sorrell Street after 9:00 AM till 1:00 PM on 14th May 2024 to facilitate the urgent construction works.
