Rubbish and Recycling Collection over the Christmas holiday period - Council wishes to advise that the kerbside rubbish and recycling will be collected as per the usual schedule. There will be no changes to the current schedule and no extra collections.

Waste Transfer Station opening times of the Christmas holiday break - Council wishes to advise that the waste transfer stations will be open at the following times during the Christmas break: George Town will be open 12Noon till 4pm everyday except Christmas Day. Pipers River will be open every Sunday 12 Noon till 4pm.

DALRYMPLE ROAD – STAGE 2 Council at its meeting held on the 12 December 2018 resolved to award Contract 03/18 for the Dalrymple Road upgrade to Andrew Walters Construction Ltd for the sum of $166,663 (ex GST.) All tenders received were evaluated in accordance with the following criteria: • Relevant Experience; • Skill Set; and • Construction Methodology. This project will involve the civil re-construction and road widening of a 200 metre section of Dalrymple Road between East Arm Road and Dan’s Creek. The work involves, complete reconstruction of new pavement, embankment construction, table drains and road re-seal. It is anticipated that works will commence early in January 2019.
