RESIDENTIAL HARD WASTE AND GREEN WASTE FREE DISPOSAL George Town Council is offering free hard waste and green waste disposal days at both the George Town and Pipers River Waste Transfer Stations for residential loads only. Proof of residency by way of rates notice or photo identification will be required. No restriction will be placed on the number of visits to either of the facilities on the free days. This service is strictly available for residential waste only. Commercial loads will be charged standard rates. George Town Waste Transfer Station Mt George Road, George Town Saturday 9th March 2019 from 9.00 am – 4.00 pm Pipers River Waste Transfer Station Parry’s Road, Pipers River Sunday 10th March 2019 from 9.00 am – 4.00 pm What type of hard waste can be disposed? YES Scrap metal White goods Building products Timber Roofing iron Wire (rolled and tied) Gas cylinders and liquids including paint, and oils Green Waste NO Asbestos Water tanks Cement sheet Car bodies Household kitchen waste Tyres Mattresses Further Information To assist with the disposal, please separate your waste into green and hard waste.
