Waste Transfer Station Opening Hours

George Town Council operates two waste transfer and recycling sites. These are located at Mt George Road, George Town and Parry's Road, Pipers River

 Mt George Road, George Town

Opening Hours: Seven (7) Days a Week

Monday to Friday - 10:00am - 4:00pm

Saturday and Sunday - 12:00pm - 4:00pm

Closed: Christmas Day and Good Friday.

 

Parry's Road, Pipers River

Opening Hours: One (1) Day a Week

Sunday 12.00 Noon to 4.00pm

Closed: Christmas Day

Mobile Phone Disposal

The designated Mobile Phone Disposal is located at the Council Chamber Foyer, Anne Street George Town.

 

Hand Held and Parachute Flares

Council has teamed up with MAST to provide a disposal/Drop off point for out of date hand held and parachute flares.  These can be brought to the waste transfer station gate house and handed to the operator for placement in the collection boxes.
