This year’s music lineup takes inspiration from the Celtic roots of solstice celebrations, reimagined with a distinctly Tasmanian spirit.
Captain O'Brien's Craic
Captain O'Brien's Craic are a seven-piece punk/pop band charged with the fiery spirit of traditional Irish and Celtic music. Expect high energy, big sound, and a good time.
Just Flare
Just Flare is a folk-rock duo made up of husband and wife Zac and Hannah Jessup. With thoughtful lyrics and uplifting melodies, their music brings warmth, sincerity, and a gentle sense of hope.
Lasca Dry
Ulverstone’s Lasca Dry is known for her dreamy vocals, psychedelic guitar work, and signature pink shark-fin axe. Her sound shifts from delicate and haunting to heavy and hypnotic — always laced with grit and glamour.
Paper Souls
Songwriter Luke Triffitt performs as Paper Souls, drawing on 15 years of songwriting and live performance. His acoustic set blends rock, blues and country influences, telling stories of love, loss, and life.
Raccoon Dog
Raccoon Dog are a Tassie-based Americana/rock band fronted by Utah-born Ben Wilson. With decades of collective experience behind them, they deliver a raw, rootsy sound fast becoming a staple of the local scene.
Reuben James Tatum
A singer-songwriter from our own municipal coast, Reuben delivers heartfelt originals rooted in folk and roots traditions. His music is honest, earthy, and straight from the heart.
Semaphore Singers
The Semaphore Singers are a community choir made up of voices from George Town, Low Head, and Hillwood. United by a love of singing, they perform an uplifting mix of folk, classic pop, spirituals, and songs that spark joy. Backed by a band of local musicians (with more always welcome), their weekly rehearsals are filled with harmony, humour, and heart. Catch them at Solstice and other local events, where their infectious energy always shines.
Sparrowgrass
Sparrowgrass is a Devonport-based folk trio blending three voices in lush harmony. Grounded in Celtic and Australian folk traditions, their acoustic sound is warm, versatile, and made with joy.
XIXA
Pronounced Chi-Cha, XIXA unites some of Hobart’s finest musicians to deliver explosive, dance-fuelled Cumbia. Hypnotic, joyful, and utterly infectious — ¡Viva la fiesta!
