Local Youth aged 12-25
During term 1 of each year, there is opportunity for local youth to apply to become a member of the Youth Impact Council. Simply complete the online form and the team will be in touch.
Meeting to Impact Change
The Youth Impact Council meet once a month with the Mayor and elected Council members to discuss youth issues, concerns and opportunities.
The members also meet regularly to plan and organise future activities, events and opportunities.
Delivering Youth Opportunities
The Youth Impact Council are determined to be leaders in their community by delivering opportunities that can improve George Town for young people. This may include youth events, activities and awareness raising campaigns.
Representing George Town with Pride to the State
Engaging in statewide opportunities ensures that the Youth Impact Council have a finger on the pulse with the bigger story. This includes meeting state and federal politicians, attending statewide forums, conducting Mock Council meetings and participation in Youth Week Tasmania events.
The Our Futures Project is delivered through the Future Impact Group with support from the Tasmanian Community Fund and George Town Council.
