Food Safety in the George Town municipality is an important regulatory function of Council. The George Town Council is committed to ensuring that food businesses operating within the region prepare and sell food to the public that satisfies the requirements of the Food Act 2003 and other relevant legislation and standards.
New food businesses operating in the George Town Municipality require assessment and approval before operating to ensure food safety standards are met.

If you operate or are employed in a Business that sells Food it is required that you completed Food Safety Training every 12 months.
