CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP - If a change of ownership occurs, the registered owner and the new owner must notify the Council in writing within 14 days. Failure to do so carries a fine of 1 penalty unit.
CHANGE IN OTHER REGISTRATION DETAILS - The Act requires that any changes in the particulars shown above for the dog(s) to be notified to the Council in writing or by completing and signing a change of ownership form.
REGISTRATION AGE - The owner of an unregistered dog that is over the age of 6 months is guilty of an offence and is liable for prosecution in accordance with the provisions of the Dog Control Act, 2000.
RULES FOR LIFETIME REGISTRATION
- No refunds given for deceased dogs.
- No refunds given for transfer to other Local Government Areas.
