Positioned on the banks of the idyllic Tamar River and meandering inland, the George Town region has many stories to tell. The diversity of experiences is impressive, from majestic coastal beaches and world class coral reefs to green rolling hills flanked by quaint townships and nostalgic country inns.
You can explore the town's rich history at the Bass and Flinders Maritime Museum and the Watch House Museum. The nearby Low Head Pilot Station offers a scenic stroll along a 4km, coastal path. The Station has the oldest group of pilot buildings in Australia and like the Pilot Station lighthouse, still operates today
For animal lovers the nearby Low Head Coastal Reserve provides an enchanting opportunity to see the world's smallest penguins waddle in from the sea each night.
