George Town Council is seeking community members who are interested in volunteering across a range of cultural, tourism, and community facing programs.
Volunteering with Council is a great way to:
- Support local culture, heritage, and events
- Meet new people and build connections
- Gain experience in visitor services, events, and galleries
- Contribute to the life and vibrancy of our municipality
We are currently welcoming expressions of interest from volunteers who may be interested in roles at:
- The Watch House
- Visitor Information Centre
- Bass & Flinders Maritime Museum
- Council Events
- Gallery Spaces
No prior experience is required for most roles. Training and support will be provided, and volunteering can be flexible depending on availability.
We also welcome expressions of interest from people completing Mutual Obligation Requirements, including those receiving JobSeeker or other unemployment benefits. Volunteering opportunities can be discussed in a way that supports individual requirements and provides meaningful, skills based experience within Council programs.
