Citizenship Ceremonies

The presentation of a Citizenship Certificate is the final step to becoming an Australian Citizen.

George Town Council conducts Australian Citizenship Ceremonies on behalf of the Department of Home Affairs.

Council’s role is to provide a Citizenship Ceremony where conferees pledge their allegiance to Australia and its laws, after which they receive their Certificate of Australian Citizenship.

Once you have received approval from the Department of Home Affairs, you will be included in the schedule for the next public Citizenship Ceremony.

Citizenship Dates - TBC

  • Australia Day, 26th of January
