We are inviting community members to review and provide feedback on the Draft Rates and Charges Policy.
Council recognises the importance of listening to our community when reviewing or changing policies, strategies and plans.
- What is being proposed? From 1 July 2026, Council proposes to change how general rates are calculated by moving from Capital Value to Assessed Annual Value (AAV).
- Why make this change? Council regularly reviews its rates and charges policy in line with legislation. The proposed change from Capital Value to Assessed Annual Value aligns with the valuation methods used by other councils and the State Fire Levy calculations.
