Council wishes to advise community associations, residents, and all road users of an identified road safety hazard on Weymouth Road.

We ask that you share this notice with your members and encourage all drivers to exercise caution in the affected area.

The hazard is located on Weymouth Road, in front of 269 Weymouth Road, approximately 750 metres south of the Weymouth Bridge (Back Creek Bridge).

For safety, temporary barriers and warning signs have been installed while Council investigates and determines appropriate repairs.

Council is deeply concerned to advise that traffic safety signs installed at the site are being stolen. The removal of these signs significantly increases the risk to road users by reducing advance warning of the hazard ahead.

Council urges all community members to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity around the site to Council or local police.

Council strongly urges all road users travelling on Weymouth Road to:
•    Slow down when approaching and passing the affected area;
•    Remain alert and watch for barricades and any remaining warning signs;
•    Avoid the wheel path in the northbound lane near the marked hazard;
•    Exercise additional caution, particularly at night or in poor weather conditions.

Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and appreciates the patience and understanding of the community.

Updates will be provided as works progress.

Location of the hazard on Weymouth Road is shown in the below map.
