Street Tree Planting – Victoria Street
Council will be undertaking beautification works along Victoria Street by planting approximately 60 trees (Prunus Blireana and Prunus Cerasifera - pink flowering in late winter to early spring) from Monday 28th October 2024. Victoria Street was endorsed by Council as a priority Street.
Trees play a crucial role in improving the livability of our neighbourhoods, especially amid the challenges posed by climate change. They offer multiple long-term benefits from ecological health, environmental regulation, social amenity and economic resilience. We need trees in our gardens, parks and reserves, and they are an essential component of all streets. Further details on Council’s Street Tree Strategy can be found HERE.
