Recycling e-waste responsibly

leaf graphic

TechCollect recover valuable materials and ensure these become new products, helping to create a sustainable environment and circular economy.

You can drop your small e-waste materials at the Recycling Hub on Anne Street or larger items at the George Town Waste Transfer Station.

The following products can be dropped off for free recycling:

  • Personal and laptop computers
  • Tablets, notebooks and palmtops
  • Computer monitors and parts (e.g. internal hard drives and CD drives)
  • Computer peripherals and accessories (e.g. mice, keyboards, web cameras, USBs and cables)
  • Printers, faxes, scanners and multi-functional devices
  • All televisions*

*Retail sites such as Officeworks have limited space for collections, and it is therefore a store-by-store decision whether TVs are accepted. As such, TechCollect recommends you call the store first to see if they will accept your TV. Alternatively, Officeworks will be running a dedicated TV collection event (during National Recycling Week), or TVs can be dropped off at an alternative TechCollect site.
