Kinimathatakinta/George Town Art Prize
Showcasing and reflecting on the rich array of artistic expression in our municipality.
Launched in 2024, the Kinimathatakinta/George Town Art Prize is aimed at celebrating local talent and cultural diversity in George Town and its surroundings. More than just an exhibition, the Kinimathatakinta/George Town Art Prize is a platform for connection and dialogue, offering opportunities for artists and residents to come together and appreciate the creativity that thrives in our region.
The Kinimathatakinta/George Town Art Prize will be held in the second half of 2026.
The first half of 2026 is filled with events, festivals, workshops and exhibitions across our municipality. Moving the Art Prize to later in the year helps spread major happenings more evenly, giving the community access to arts experiences all year round.
This adjustment also supports the goals of George Town’s Community Strategic Plan 2020–2030, which calls for a balanced and vibrant calendar of events that strengthens participation, connection and cultural life.
Stay tuned for dates and details. We’re looking forward to sharing what’s ahead and showcasing our municipality's local talent.
