Cat Management Policy

 We are seeking some Community feedback.

Recently Council endorsed George Town Council’s first Cat Management Policy.

In the main, the Policy relies upon the Cat Management Act 2009 in terms of its administration however the Policy does identify a number of actions and initiatives in relation to responsible cat management and a addresses the issues of microchipping, desexing of domestic cats and addressing challenges with stray and feral.

Council welcomes any feedback you wish to provide as it will be considered to inform any necessary changes to the Policy that may be required.

The consultation period will commence on Friday 7th of June 2024 and will close 5pm on Friday 5th of July 2024.
