The Pilot Station Cafe

Meander the East side of the Tamar Valley to the Low Head Peninsular. The Pilot Station Cafe is located within the pristine ‘Low Head Pilot Station Historic Precinct’. Enjoy beautiful waterside views of the Tamar River from the convict-built heritage Cafe front room. There is an abundance of outdoor seating on the patio and greens for you to fully consume your coastal surroundings. Indulge in fresh Tasmanian seafood, local wines, lovingly made cakes and coffee. You may see large Ships sailing by, guided across Hebe Reef by the Pilots. View our Day Menu

In contrast to our day menu, we serve Spanish style Tapas on Friday and Saturday evenings, where you can relax in the Evening Sun sipping local wine in our unique location and watch the sunset on the water. View our Dinner Menu.

We host a number of unique events at the Pilot Station, keep up to date with events. Low Head Pilot Station is a coastal and historical destination; it is only a short walk to Low Head Lighthouse from the cafe (or an even shorter drive), visit one of our many local beaches, take a tour in the Maritime Museum. If you would like to stay to discover more, such as an evening Penguin Tour there are self-contained heritage cottages within Low Head Pilot Station for accommodation.
